def. Hope – A confident expectation of the future

I’m talking to you today about speaking hope, every one of us has people in our lives that need to have hope spoken over them, like your children when you say I’m proud of you, you’re going to do great, – you have just spoken hope over their lives and future.

The moment you speak it, you release hope into their future.

Just like you pull back a bow and shoot an arrow you are releasing blessing.

You can literally shape their destiny through your words of hope.

One word of approval can place hope and destiny in some ones heart.

Think of some one who has done that for you.

Someone has spoken hope over your life, now who are you doing it for, don’t just have one-way traffic on this.

You have words of hope locked up on the inside of you words other people need to hear.

When you help someone else rise higher it’s a seed you are sowing and God will ensure there will be some-one to help you rise higher also.

People will rise to what you speak over them. Don’t say I won’t say it until I see it

So where can I give hope today or more accurately – to whom can I give it.

Bless someone this week with your words, express a confident expectation in their future.

1 Thessalonians 5:11 (TMNT) 11So speak encouraging words to one another. Build up hope so you’ll all be together in this, no one left out, no one left behind. I know you’re already doing this; just keep on doing it

I was speaking in our 10am Service last Sunday about fresh hope. Hope is one of those things we can’t do without , it so easily ebbs away or is some how diminished through day to day life. Some one once described hope as “a confident expectation in the future”

The challenge is to draw our hope from the right place, lets be honest you probably won’t draw fresh hope for each day from the 6 o’clock news. The Bible talks about hope in 1 Corinthians 13:13 there are three things that are not going to pass away – Faith Hope and Love. Don’t let hope be robbed from your life by the circumstances you are facing right now. Know that God is with you, He hears your prayers and some of those prayers will be answered this week.

We had a lady come forward for prayer in one of our services several week ago she had been diagnosed with an enlarged heart, we prayed and that following week after more scans and tests the cardiologist told her her heart was now normal size again. The point is if she didn’t have fresh hope that God could heal her that day would she have even come forward for prayer, – fresh hope opens the door in your life for miracles.

The Apostle Peter quoted David in the Old Testament when he says in Acts 2 (The Message)

25 David said it all: I saw God before me for all time. Nothing can shake me; he’s right by my side. 26 I’m glad from the inside out, estatic; I’ve pitched my tent in the land of HOPE

So pitch your tent in the land of hope this week

VISION IS ………SOME THOUGHTS ON VISION

Vision is futuristic, – your preferred future or your feared future

“Men who see the invisible, hear the inaudible, believe the incredible, and think the unthinkable!” Plaque on 18th Century Church

” the word itself suggests, vision generally refers to that upon which individuals, families or members of an organization have “set their sights.” It could be seen as a synonym for “overall goal.”—Complete Book of Everyday Christianity, The

Vision is what you believe will be your future

Vision is not necessarily based in current reality
Vision is not limited by current reality

Vision will give a positive picture and a negative picture of your future ( Job, – what I feared has come upon me )

Vision is like the 2 poles of a magnet it can attract you towards it or repel you away from it.

Vision can lift you to new heights or hold you under a lid.

Not every vision is from God.

Painter’s Two Canvases
A certain painter is reputed to have always painted with two canvases before him—one above the other. On the upper one, which was always white, the artist imagined he saw the painting. It was his vision of what was to be. On the lower canvas he reproduced for others the picture which he already saw in his mind’s eye.

3 States of Vision

1. No Vision
Proverbs 29:17 – Proverbs 29:18 (KJV)
18Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

Job 15:11 – Job 15:13 (NLT) 11“Is God’s comfort too little for you? Is his gentle word not enough? 12What has captured your reason? What has weakened your vision, 13that you turn against God and say all these evil things?

2. A Negative Vision

Our negative visions can play a bigger role in our lives than our preferred positive visions – if we allow it.
Vision of unemployment or of an early death – etc………..

Psalms 6:6 – Psalms 6:7 (NLT)
6 I am worn out from sobbing.
Every night tears drench my bed;
my pillow is wet from weeping.
7 My vision is blurred by grief;
my eyes are worn out because of all my enemies.

3. A Positive Vision

Proverbs 16:2 – Proverbs 16:3 (NLT)
Commit your work to the LORD, and then your plans will succeed.
Psalm 138:8
The LORD will work out his plans for my life—

Map On William Carey’s Wall
In the 1700′s a little man in England, a cobbler by trade, who kept a map of the world on a wall of his workshop so that he could pray for the nations of the world, became burdened for a definite missionary outreach. When he shared his burden at a meeting of ministers, he was told by one of the senior men of God: “Young man, sit down. When God wants to convert the heathen, He will do it without your help or mine.”
But William Carey did not let the fire of his enthusiasm be dampened by such a response, and eventually he left the shores of England for those of India, where he engaged in pioneer missionary work, doing exploits for God.
